Chris Lavarda's Biography

Chris Lavarda's musical roots began when growing up in a house filled with instruments. Chris' father, "Geno Lavarda" was a big band musician in the 40's and 50's and his initial influence and mentor on guitar, banjo and mandolin. Chris learned to play the guitar at an early age, developing his own unique style and sound. When Chris was 15 years old, he ventured out to play and sing in small bars and restaurants with a band called, "We Three". His band played Country Western and Old Rock and Roll cover songs and drew large crowds. Signing autographs after performing was commonplace. Chris gained valuable experience and confidence as a musician. Chris started a new band in 1975 called " Country Mile" with his brother Mark. This four piece band toured and played throughout East Central Wisconsin in a variety of venues including picnics, parades, weddings and private parties. After graduating from UW Oshkosh as a teacher in 1979, Chris put his musical career on hold to become a school teacher. Never really giving up on his dream to perform, he continued to sing and play his guitar for his students. As an educator for 35 years, Chris wrote many songs and plays, for his students to perform in school auditoriums and gymnasiums over the years. Chris' varied musical talents have been a big part of his successful teaching career. Chris' musical influence is remembered by his students and has inspired them to go on to many successful careers themselves.

After retiring as a teacher in 2015, Chris once again felt the urge and desire to perform. Joining forces with another

excellent musian and singer, (Jodi Nadler) "Double Trouble" was formed. This dynamic duo has created a unique

blend of rhythm and harmonies to entice both yound and old. Double Trouble has developed a reputation for playing

music from many genres including old country standards to number one songs on the pop charts. This musical

variety has created a buzz among their followers. "Double Trouble" continues to work on expanding their musical

repetoire for each show. Don't pass up a chance to see "Chris" and "Jodi" as "Double Trouble", playing at a location

near you.

Jodi Nadler's Biography

It all started with a toy piano and a Donny and Marie Microphone. As a child, I loved to play and sing. My parents introduced me to all genres of music. My Mom took me to my first concert when I was 10 years old, John Denver and I still remember it! My Dad liked everything from the Beatles to ABBA. My Mom was an Elvis fan and for my 17th birthday she took me to Graceland. 2 years later she took me to Dollywood and Nashville, TN. In Middle School and High School I joined the band and was the 2nd chair Flute. I enjoyed peforming and playing. My Grandmother played the Harmonica, Juice Harp, Accordion and Organ. After High School, I learned to play organ. Then, I concentrated on raising my 2 Sons and I worked in sales 20+ years. I even earned 3 free trips! And then one day, I went to an Elvis Impersonator Competition and met some friends there and started singing! One of the Elvis Impersonators hired me to open his show and be his background singer. I also sang for private parties. I have dressed up as Cher, ABBA and Joan Jett Impersonators. I then started my own DJ/Karaoke company "Sassy Spike Entertainment." I have been the Dj for many weddings and parties and have a reputation of getting people out dancing and playing a good variety of music. I play Karaoke 3 nights a week in 3 bars. I have a good following of people. I love to Country Line Dance. I enjoy playing the keyboards and the variety of instruments like the Trumpet you can play on it. I also enjoy playing small percussion instruments. I like interacting with people at the shows and making them feel special and appreciated.

I believe singing is good therapy and it makes me happy! And, I think it makes other people happy too! I feel blessed to be singing with such a talented guitar player! it is a fun journey forming "Double Trouble" with Chris. We literally put a set of music together in a few days! It's an amazing journey that I am so grateful to be a part of!     Jodi
